Rashid was born in Freetown. He attends primary school and is in class 5. His mother died from  unknown illness. His father later abandoned him. He is now staying with his grandmother, Yalie, a single woman who makes her living as a petty trader and struggles to provide for him. Rashid needs sponsorship to help provide for his physical, educational, and spiritual needs.
