Mary was born in Freetown. Her father died in 2014 from injuries related to falling from a palm tree while harvest palm konels. Her mother died in 2015 from complications of stomach ulcer. She is now staying with her aunt, Margaret, a poor petty trader who struggles to provide for her. Mary needs sponsorship to help provide for her physical, educational, and spiritual needs.
